Esta será mi filosofía en los próximos... una historia bonita detrás de cada bolso.
Espero disfrutes y confíes en su compañía tanto como yo, de ahí el nombre MyBestys (mis íntimos).

ABOUT ME
Me licencié en Derecho por la Universidad de Barcelona, pero una de mis mi verdaderas aficiones, junto con el arte, ha sido siempre el mundo de la moda. Tuve la oportunidad de trabajar, recién licenciada, y temporalmente en grandes almacenes de Londres y Nueva York, allí aprendí mucho del consumidor. A mi vuelta a Barcelona coincidí con la época dorada de la ciudad, el año 92, entrando a trabajar durante unos años en el área de marketing de una importante consultora de gestión de negocio, lo que me dio una visión de la empresa de gran utilidad para mis futuros proyectos.
Con la experiencia y conocimientos adquiridos decidí, a principios del 94, incorporarme a la empresa familiar y emprendí mi propio proyecto (personal) abriendo en Barcelona la que sería la primera tienda "Cristina Castañer" y que fue durante años referente para fashionistas. Creé en ese espacio la primera tienda Castañer dándole un impulso a la marca a nivel de visibilidad, prensa y argumento de venta.
Por entonces no existían los "concept stores", que más tarde tuvieron grandes éxitos y fueron verdaderos referentes en el mundo de la moda como la mítica Colette en Paris o la famosa "10 Corso como" en Milán. De alguna manera fui pionera en la mezcla de objetos, conceptos y marcas, añadiendo así todo lo que creía casaba bien con mis alpargatas "Castañer" como sombreros, pareos, pañuelos, collares, gafas, libros, etc. y todo ello, en un espacio de 25 metros
cuadrados. Se convirtió en tienda de referencia en el sector.
Así la mayor parte de mi vida laboral ha estado ligada, y entregada a la empresa familiar que fundó mi abuelo, Luis Castañer, en 1927. A lo largo de estos años de entrega y trabajo he aportado, visión, innovación, pasión, creatividad, modernidad y todo el buen hacer que he sabido.
Después de mi larga etapa laboral en la empresa familiar de alpargatas Castañer, inicio una nueva marca de bolsos y bolsas, MyBestys. Un concepto totalmente nuevo en su idea y basado en la sostenibilidad de sus materiales - lonas de los años 50 del siglo pasado, rescatadas de un gran almacén - siguiendo nuestra tradición de alta calidad artesanal, con producción local y con el saber hacer del Made in Spain.
Mi ilusión y trabajo es dar visibilidad a esta (nueva) marca. MyBestys es totalmente sostenible con lonas antiguas. Me gustaría poner mi granito de arena para volver a un mundo más sostenible y ecológico y moderar así ese consumo desmesurado. Por eso, mis productos no tienen descuentos, porque quiero respetar su calidad atemporal y resaltar el trabajo de los artesanos españoles y así preservar el oficio de los mismos.

MyBestys was born in an old mattress fabric factory. I was amazed by the space, the colorful canvases and the quality of the cottons, incredible and unique from the 50's, cottons that are a treasure hard to find nowadays.
I have given these canvases, together with the recycled vintage Castañer espadrilles, a second life, creating sustainable pieces that give shape and meaning to what MyBestys is today.
The designs combine all the elements that I like, functionality, exclusivity, craftsmanship, tradition, good workmanship, "Made in Spain", creativity, freshness, color, joy, chic and quality.
This will be my philosophy in the next ones... a beautiful story behind each bag.
I hope you enjoy and trust their company as much as I do, hence the name MyBestys (my intimates).

ABOUT ME
Graduated in Law from the University of Barcelona, I have always been interested in the world of fashion, as well as in art. I had the opportunity to work, after graduating, and temporarily in department stores in London and New York, where I learned a lot about the retail world. When I moved back to Barcelona, I arrived at the golden age of the city, in 1992, when I began to work for a few years in the marketing area of an important business management consultancy, which gave me a very useful vision of the company for my future projects.
With the experience and knowledge acquired I decided, at the beginning of 1994, to incorporate myself into the family business and started my own (personal) project by opening in Barcelona what would become the first "Cristina Castañer" store, which for years was a reference for fashion lovers. I created in that space the first Castañer store, giving a boost to the brand in terms of visibility, press and sales argument. Mixing objects, concepts and brands, adding everything that I thought went well with my "Castañer" espadrilles such as hats, sarongs, scarves, necklaces, glasses, books, etc. and all this in a space of 25 square meters. It turned into a reference store in the sector.
In those days there were no "concept stores", which later became very successful and were true references in the fashion world, such as the legendary Colette in Paris or the famous "10 Corso Como" in Milan.
Therefore, most of my working life has been linked and dedicated to the family business founded by my grandfather, Luis Castañer, in 1927. Throughout these years of dedication and work I have contributed vision, innovation, passion, creativity, modernity and all the good work I have known.
After my long career in the family business of Castañer espadrilles, I started a new brand of handbags and wallets, MyBestys. A totally new concept based on the sustainability of its materials - canvases from the 50s of the last century, rescued from a large warehouse - following our tradition of high quality handicrafts, with local production and the know-how of Made in Spain.
My illusion and work is to give visibility to this (new) brand. MyBestys is totally sustainable with vintage canvases. I would like to do my bit to return to a more sustainable and ecological world and to moderate this excessive consumption. That's why my products are not discounted, because I want to respect their timeless quality and value the work of Spanish artisans to preserve their profession.
